The Professional Leadership Programs initiative is designed to build relationships with external public and private organizations to provide training in leadership and ethics. These relationships provide multiple benefits to external partners and to The Citadel: they are introduced to our Leadership Development Model and how we mentor and train principled leaders. The Citadel benefits from partnering with excellent organizations, understanding the hiring and leadership needs of operating organizations, and from expanding the reach of The Citadel in the community. Both organizations benefit from resulting relationships built with career services.
Our partners are invited to “Discover, Understand, and Apply” the tools of leadership and ethics First, we discover these tools through academic review, next we understand these tools in context through group discussion about ethical frameworks and leadership examples from recent history. Finally, we apply this knowledge through case study development and team-building exercises.
